Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2026 (CAAW26) takes place from Tuesday 2 June to Friday 5 June 2026.
The theme for this year is:
From curiosity to confidence
This theme reflects on the journey of clinical audit from:
- asking questions about practice
- identifying opportunities for improvement
- building assurance, shared learning, and confidence in care delivery
What to expect from CAAW26
Throughout the week, the National Centre for Clinical Audit (NCCA) will showcase:
- webinars and shared learning sessions
- practical resources and tools to support clinical audit
- examples of clinical audit in practice from healthcare teams
- guidance, education, and signposting to national supports
- opportunities to celebrate and promote local clinical audit activity and achievements
Whether you are new to clinical audit or already leading projects within your service, Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2026 aims to support, encourage, and connect healthcare teams across the country.
HSE National Strategy for Clinical Audit 2026-2030
The week will also focus on the direction of the HSE National Strategy for Clinical Audit 2026-2030. This will support services and staff to:
- Build capability and confidence in clinical audit
- Lead improvement through learning and evidence-informed practice
- Connect teams through shared learning and collaboration
- Improve quality, safety, and patient care across the health service
