The HSE National Quality and Patient Safety Directorate are delighted to announce the launch of the Surgical Instrument and Endoscope Decontamination eLearning Programme on HSELanD.
This interactive learning programme is for learners who want to gain a better understanding of the concepts and practices that relate to the decontamination of surgical instruments and endoscopes in the hospital setting.
It contains three modules
- introduction to Decontamination of Reusable Invasive Medical Devices
- decontaminating RIMD in the Central Decontamination Unit
- decontaminating flexible endoscopes in the Endoscope Decontamination Unit
The programme will benefit those with no, minimal or some experience in this area. It is also suitable for existing decontamination staff who wish to refresh or consolidate their knowledge.
