CervicalCheck
CervicalCheck is Ireland’s free cervical screening programme. We provide free cervical screening tests to women and people with a cervix. We do this so that we can check a person’s risk of developing cervical cancer.
What we do
We strive to reduce the number of people who develop cervical cancer.
Here is some of the work we do:
- Cervical screening for all women and people with a cervix age 25 to 65.
- Quick referrals for anyone who needs more diagnostic tests.
- Ensuring CervicalCheck services are accessible to all, for example providing longer appointments or information in different formats.
We offer cervical screening with over 4,000 GPs and practice nurses in clinics across Ireland. Only practices and clinics registered with the Medical Council or the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland can provide our cervical screening services.
Cervical screening is not a test for cancer - it’s a test to check a person’s risk of developing cervical cancer.
