The HSE is reviewing the 4 national Early Warning System guidelines:
- INEWS
- IMEWS
- PEWS
- EMEWS
We are keen to hear from staff who are using these Early Warning Systems in practice. Your input will help us understand what's working well and identify opportunities for improvement.
Who can join this consultation session?
The session is open to any staff member in the HSE currently using Early Warning Systems in their work. You will need access to a computer and keyboard. These virtual sessions (Microsoft Teams) will run in collaboration with the Centre for Implementation Research, University of Limerick on:
- Thursday 16 July 2026 at 10am to 11am
- Tuesday 21 July 2026 at 3pm to 4pm
How much time is involved?
Each session is 1 hour long.
Before the session, please consider:
- what works well using the EWS form?
- what improvements would you make to the Early Warning Systems?
What happens during the session?
The consultation uses a Rapid Insight approach. At the start of the session, we will ask participants to turn off their cameras and remain on mute.
The facilitator will:
- ask key questions, one at a time.
- invite you to type your response in the chat function.
A small review team will analyse the responses and identify key themes to inform the guideline review.
