We use social media platforms to communicate with people interested in our services. This is managed by our Communications department working in partnership with our colleagues across all of our services.

Who we follow
We will follow organisations and individuals of relevance to us. This does not imply endorsement of any kind. Sometimes we may follow you so that we can exchange Direct Messages (DMs). If you follow us, we will not automatically follow you back.
Reposts
Reposts of content does not imply endorsement of any kind. We will, from time to time, repost content from other accounts if we think our followers may find the information of interest, relevant to our services, or relevant to health and wellbeing.
@Replies and Direct Messages
We welcome feedback from our followers. We are happy to respond, where relevant, to queries from the public. We do not reply individually to all messages, comments and queries we receive on our social media accounts. We do not provide medical or clinical advice via our social media accounts.
Data Protection
We ask that you safeguard your personal privacy and the privacy of others by not posting personal data in your posts or direct messages to us. This is for the protection of your personal data and private information.

Social media abuse
Abusive or spam posts will be dealt with using the relevant platforms’ policies and guidelines on abusive behaviour and the HSE guidelines on how to deal with social media abuse. This may result in followers being blocked and reported directly to the platform.
Staff posts
All staff should familiarise themselves with the HSE Social Media Policy.
Availability
We will monitor our social media platforms at scheduled times during business hours of the working week (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm). Social media platforms may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service during this downtime.
