The Children First Act 2015 places legal responsibilities in protection of children from harm. The Policy promotes safe environments for children and young people; provide clarity and support to staff in relation to their roles and responsibilities to be taken if they have a child protection or welfare concern. It is one of a suite of safeguarding policies in the HSE that serve to provide strong protections to children and young people against the risk of harm duty of care.
