The procedure provides guidance to prescribers and those administering medication to children receiving a Paediatric Homecare Package (PHCP) on the completion of the Paediatric Medication Prescription and Administration Record (P-MPAR)
This procedure outlines the roles and responsibilities of employees involved in prescribing and administering medication under a PHCP and sets out the requirements for healthcare professionals prescribing and administering medication to children receiving a Paediatric Homecare Package (PHCP) using the Paediatric Medication Prescription and Administration Record (P-MPAR).
The purpose is to ensure that all medication prescription and administration entries are completed accurately, legibly, and safely, to promote effective treatment and minimise the risk of medication errors.
