The purpose of this HSE National Guideline is to set out the procedure to be followed by HSE employees, or agents, in the administration of clients and patients private property.

The following Guidelines set out the steps that must be taken to ensure that the interests of the client are protected and gives clear guidance to HSE employees in the management of clients’ property in the care of the HSE. Should be read in conjunction with the National Finnacial Regulation documents 'C1 - Patients' Private Property and Finances' and 'C2 - Community Residence Finances.
