We are now providing BreastCheck appointment information on the HSE Health App.
This is part of our continued work to strengthen our communications with our breast screening participants and to empower everyone eligible to choose screening.
BreastCheck is free and is for women, transgender, intersex and non-binary people aged 50 to 69.
If you are a registered user of the HSE Health App, and you have an upcoming appointment with BreastCheck, you will be able to see:
- your appointment date and time
- BreastCheck clinic name
- the location of your appointment (address and Eircode)
- a phone number and email address for BreastCheck.
The App will also signpost you to useful information about your breast screening including:
- how to get ready for your appointment
- how to change or cancel your appointment
- what you need to tell us before your appointment.
Can I use the App to change my appointment?
No. You can’t use the App to change or cancel your appointment. The App will include a phone number and email address to contact us if you need to change your appointment. When you change it, the App will be updated with this information.
Do I need to download the App to get my BreastCheck appointment?
No. The App is optional. We will continue to send appointment letters by post when your breast screening is due. We will also send you a reminder text about your appointment, if we have your phone number.
If you are a registered user of the HSE Health App, and you have notifications turned on, you will get a notification on the App about your BreastCheck appointment when it is due. You will get this notification before you get your appointment letter.
More to come
We’ll be adding more BreastCheck features to the App over time, giving you simple, accessible ways to stay informed and in control of your breast screening journey.
