Our CervicalCheck campaign won gold for Best Creative at the 2026 Digital Media Awards.
The award recognises the importance of design and art direction in creating engaging and effective digital communications. Our entry focused on how creativity helped us make cervical screening feel more human, approachable and relevant.
Designing for confidence and trust
Going for cervical screening can feel very personal. Anxiety, embarrassment and misinformation can all affect how people feel about taking part. In this campaign, we wanted to help people feel differently about CervicalCheck.
The campaign aimed to:
- continue building trust and confidence in CervicalCheck
- encourage more people to take part in cervical screening
- address myths and misinformation
- make our communications accessible and relatable to diverse audiences
- encourage people to register with CervicalCheck.
A fresh approach to cervical screening
We worked with Ebow Digital to design the campaign. We wanted our visual identity to feel human, bold, warm and reassuring, and contemporary, while remaining credible.
The design took inspiration from community wellness movements, social-first brands, contemporary digital culture and lifestyle-led visual storytelling. We used vibrant colours, authentic and diverse photography, approachable typography and clear messaging. This helped present cervical screening as a routine act of self-care.
We used strong visual hierarchy, simple layouts, clear typography and generous spacing. This helped to make information easier to scan and read on different screen sizes.
Plain language worked alongside the visual system to make complex health information easier to understand.
Designed for digital
The campaign was created for digital channels from the start.
The creative included:
- short-form video
- bold social media graphics
- educational explainers
- participant stories
- content designed specifically for different platforms.
This allowed us to keep a consistent and recognisable CervicalCheck identity, while creating content suited to how people use each platform.
The creative approach also helped make cervical screening feel more approachable while keeping the trust and credibility people expect from CervicalCheck.
Turning creativity into action
The campaign reached people at scale and encouraged them to find out more about CervicalCheck.
It achieved:
- 20.3 million impressions
- more than 4.4 million video views
- more than 86,000 link clicks.
Simple, bold creative with clear calls to action delivered the strongest engagement. Short-form video helped people to better understand the screening process. Educational content and participant stories helped build trust, challenge misconceptions and increase confidence in CervicalCheck.
Good design can change how people experience health information. Our gold award for Best Creative shows how thoughtful, engaging design can make cervical screening easier to understand and help people feel informed and confident to choose screening.
